Health and safety notice
Silkbreath shows how exercises are commonly done. It is general information for education. It is not medical advice, diagnosis or treatment, and it cannot know your body or your health.
What Silkbreath is
- A library of exercises from many disciplines, each shown by an animated figure with plain instructions.
- Courses that explain the history, ideas and technique of those disciplines.
- Tools to collect exercises into routines and play them back.
What Silkbreath is not
- It is not a doctor, physiotherapist, coach or teacher, and it does not replace one.
- It does not examine you, diagnose anything or prescribe treatment. Nothing here is a treatment plan.
- It does not claim that any exercise cures, heals, treats or prevents any illness or injury.
- Search results are matched to words by a simple program on your own device. When you type a health concern, the program picks gentler, generally relevant exercises. It does not know whether they suit you.
Before you start
Talk to a doctor or other qualified health professional before you begin if any of these apply to you:
- You are pregnant or have recently given birth.
- You have a heart, lung, blood pressure, bone, joint, nerve or balance condition, or any long-term illness.
- You have an injury, recent surgery, or pain that has not been looked at.
- You take medicine that affects your heart rate, blood pressure or balance.
- You have not been active for a long time, or you are unsure whether an activity is safe for you.
If a health professional has given you advice or an exercise plan, follow theirs, not ours.
While you exercise
- Start with the easy version and a short time. Build up slowly.
- Stay in a range that feels comfortable. Mild effort and stretch are normal. Sharp, shooting or worsening pain is a signal to stop.
- Stop and rest if you feel dizzy, faint, sick, short of breath or unwell. Get medical help if it does not settle quickly.
- Breathing practices should stay comfortable. Go back to normal breathing if you feel light-headed.
- Make sure the floor is clear and not slippery, and that any chair, step, wall or equipment you use is sturdy and steady.
- For balance work, stand beside a wall, counter or sturdy chair.
- The figure shows a general shape. Bodies differ. Adapt the movement to yours.
Children
Silkbreath is written for adults. A child should use it only with an adult who can supervise.

Your responsibility
You choose which exercises to do and how hard to work, and you exercise at your own risk. As far as the law allows, Silkbreath is not liable for injury or loss that comes from using the site. Our terms of use set this out in full. Nothing in this notice limits rights that the law does not allow to be limited.
